Tudor 1926 Classic Automatic Watch Review
Today I am reviewing the 36mm Tudor 1926 Ref M91450-0001. This is the stainless steel model with a silver dial and rose gold hands. This watch was a gift for my girlfriend, but we wanted a model that I could also wear occasionally. This particular reference proved challenging to obtain, probably due to its size, as I noticed that the 39mm version was plentiful in local watch stores and online. I could not locate this watch for a month until I contacted Howard’s Fine Jewelry in Ottawa, Ontario. Howard’s is a Tudor and Rolex dealer, and quite possibly one of the best Rolex dealers I’ve ever been to. I didn’t hesitate to make a quick appointment to pick up my luxury replica watches.
The only brand that could be ticked off the standard list was Tudor, closely followed by Nomos. After taking a closer look at the models, our favorites were the Tudor 1926, the BB36, and the Nomos Orion. Although we liked the Orion’s internal movement and minimalist style, it was quickly removed from our list because its movement was hand-wound, it had a low water resistance rating, and it didn’t have a metal strap. We then had to choose between the 1926 or the BB36. After my girlfriend tried on the BB36 in the store, it was quickly removed from the list; it was just a little too sporty, so it didn’t have as many features as the 1926, and it cost $1000 more than the 1926. So much for our decision.
The great thing about the 1926 Ref M91450-0001 is that it not only meets our standards, but it exceeds them. Some of the things we like about it are the solid rose gold hands and markers, the unique waffle pattern dial, the solid link stainless steel Jubilee bracelet, the screw-down crown, the large 100m water resistance rating, the overall mass weight of the watch, the date function, the massive Tudor brand heritage. To be entirely fair, this watch feels like a Rolex Oyster Perpetual with a slightly different style.
The fit and finish of this watch are absolutely astounding for the price point, and it really does compete with the Rolex Oyster Perpetual. The highly polished areas and brushed finish on the case and bracelet are essentially the same quality as the Rolex.
The 1926 exudes a beautiful light effect on the wrist due to the contrast between the polished and brushed areas, which is very well designed. The integration of the bracelet links is excellent, especially the end links that meet the case and lugs, which fit together seamlessly without any gaps.
The screws and pins on the bracelet are also perfectly plush and polished, which was one of the first things I noticed when I first came across this watch.
Overall, I think this particular replica watches usa has the finish you would expect to find at two to three times its price.
The dial is simple and elegant. The solid rose gold hands are evident on the silvered, almost pearl-like waffle dial.
The placement of all the markers is precise, even when looking at the dial with a jeweler’s loupe to confirm this. The date wheel blends very well, but is still large enough to be easily read without using a Cyclops loupe on the crystal; it fits this watch and is an excellent feature for everyday use. If you look closely, you’ll also notice the slight rounding on the outer edge of the dial, which is very cool. The waffle pattern on the dial is also attractive, and the overall level of detail is astounding.
Unlike the BB36, this dial lacks luminescence. Due to the slightly more stately style of this watch, it is best not to use luminescence as it will detract from the overall polish of the dial.
